A Writer's Journey Home: Dedicated to Author Jan Harper
A Writer's Journey Home
Great storm cease
and lay to rest,
Your tired and weary sage,
The mind of one so dear,
cannot write another page.
Death will not
halt the ink stained hand,
Books will allow the words to breathe,
Last breath is nothing
When a writer has to leave.
Dedicated to Jan Harper (Louie Jerome) my writing friend. She passed from this earth to take up writing elsewhere, but her books live on with us her.

A beautiful and so moving tribute Glynis, thanks for the links to the books too.
ReplyDeleteI was so saddened to hear this. I enjoyed Jan's articles. Triond will miss her presence. Her work will live on.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Glynis...had to.....
ReplyDeleteAlthough I’ve never heard you laugh,
I’ve seen it written where,
Such joy had spilled into your words,
As you had brought me there.
Although I’ve never seen you cry,
I’ve seen it written where,
Such trials have evoked such pain,
As you had brought me there.
Although I’ve never touched you once,
I’ve seen it written where,
Fingers trickle ‘cross a heart,
As you had brought me there.
Although we’d never shared that wine,
I’ve seen it written where,
A glass for you, a glass for me,
As you had brought me there.
Although I’d never smelled your skin,
I’ve seen it written where,
Bouquets are humbled by such pure,
As you have brought me there.
I reflect upon our united event,
As you close this first endeavor;
Consoled I am with knowledge that,
Shared words shall live forever.
awww and ohhhh... break my heart
