Winter Died Last Night
It brushed my skin, your warmth,
A gentle breeze alerts me,
Winter died last night,
No mourning will you see.
A blade of grass, a satin petal,
Oh new life, a simple thread,
The birth of Spring renews me,
Winter passed away, it's dead.
Spring arrives full glory,
It carpets the world with green,
Bursting buds and rainbows,
We forget Winter had ever been.

ReplyDeleteNo mourning will you see. Igrew up in Michigan, so I can relate. Welcome Spring! Time for fun and sun.

Thanks Stephen. Spring in Cyprus is at its peak now. Getting hotter by the day, soon all will be dry and crispy.
ReplyDeleteI adore the spring.
Beautiful imagery. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Remilda, glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThe arrival of spring is so welcome, especially in areas of bitter winter. San Francisco's climate is never too harsh but, still, spring with all the lovely trees bursting into bloom is so lovely. Now, summer is upon us - though, normally, here, it is never too bad.
ReplyDeleteWonderful poem!
Summer has arrived early in Cyprus now. We are experiencing, August in May. Spring was very short, the plants will suffer without the rains.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carmen.
