The Cruel Games You Play

Dagger, does less than you,
Its duty done in swift time.
You, you are cruel,
Torture and pain, your game.

A game? Yes, you play,
Memories clear, then fog.
Fog, then memories clear,
You laugh, destroy and kill.

Alzheimer's you have destroyed,
Families suffer at your hand.
You leave nothing but a shell,
And hatred of yourself.

A loved one, taken,
Just so you can live.
What is your purpose?
You are nothing, yet you are.

The disease has finally taken full hold of my father. He now has to go into care, maybe psychiatric care. He can no longer talk on the phone. So I have lost him completely, as we are so far apart. No more songs down the phone line, no more dithering conversations. I have no forgiveness inside me for Alzheimer's. My father never had a sick day in his life, that is the cruel part.

  1. I feel sorry for you. This disease simply takes away the person from the loved ones ,even when they are amongst them.
